What Your Agent Does In Jira
-
Turn Notes Into Work Items
Paste meeting notes, a customer email or a chat thread. Your agent drafts each work item with a clear summary, steps or acceptance criteria and the right project, then files them.
-
Triage New Bugs
For each new bug, your agent looks for duplicates, links similar work items and suggests a component, priority and assignee. It applies them when you agree.
-
Tidy The Backlog
Your agent lists backlog items that are months old, missing acceptance criteria or already covered elsewhere, and suggests what to close, merge or fill in.
-
Spot Sprint Blockers Early
Mid-sprint, ask what’s blocked, what hasn’t moved in days and who has too much on their plate. You get a short list with a next step for each.
Ask In Your Own Words
Type it in any project chat, or send it from your phone. Your agent works in Jira for you, with your own login, and reports back in the thread.
- Make Jira tickets from today’s planning notes and put them in the APP backlog.
- Is there already a ticket for the login timeout Lisa reported?
- What in the backlog hasn’t been touched since spring?
- What’s blocked in this sprint, and who’s waiting on whom?
- Move WEB-412 to In Review and add a comment that Tom’s fix is up.

Questions About Jira And Your Agents
Which Jira account should I connect?
Your own Atlassian account works. Many teams add a separate user for the agent and give it only the projects it needs, which keeps its changes clearly marked in each ticket’s history.
Does it follow our custom fields and workflows?
Yes. It reads each project’s work types, required fields and workflow statuses and uses them as they are. If a required field needs a choice it can’t make, it asks you.
Can it work alongside Rovo and our automation rules?
Yes. Rovo and your automation rules stay as they are. Your agent signs in with the account you connected and can only do what that account is allowed to do.
Does my agent see my Jira password?
No. Your Jira login stays in your Vault, a safe your agents can use but never read. You can remove an agent’s access, or disconnect Jira, at any time in Settings.
